Why Should You Eat High Protein Ice Cream?

We may think of ice cream as an indulgence, something we eat to make us happy. But adding protein to it can actually help satisfy your appetite, not just your sweet tooth.

“Protein is more satiating than carbohydrates or fats. Eating protein-rich foods can help you feel full longer, reducing the likelihood of overeating,” says Carissa Galloway, RDN, Premier Protein Nutrition Consultant and Personal Trainer.

Galloway also suggests we should be distributing our protein intake throughout the day. All the more reason to enjoy an afternoon ice cream break or a scoop under the stars after dinner.

How Do You Make High Protein Ice Cream?

Making high protein ice cream is easy! Our recipes work great with many popular ice cream makers, and you can also make them without one.

In most cases, you can grab your favorite Premier Protein shake, throw it in a blender or food processor with some fruit or other mix-ins and seal in an airtight container in the freezer for four hours or more. Choose your favorite toppings and enjoy!
